Anki was founded in 2010 by three Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute graduates to make consumer products powered by technology once confined to robotics labs. The company brought objects to life through robotics and artificial intelligence, and its team of roboticists, film animators, engineers and game developers built accessible consumer robots for the home, including Cozmo. In January 2020 Digital Dream Labs announced it had acquired Anki's robotics and artificial intelligence assets and planned to relaunch Cozmo, Vector and Overdrive.
