Remote control: ROS 2 only: run ROS 2 Jazzy on a Linux host or in a Linux VM on a Mac (UTM/Parallels, bridged network), or put rosbridge on the robot and use roslibpy from plain Python, including on macOS.

Overview

The most "house-native" robot here, a Roomba base that quietly handles carpet edges, finds its dock, and maps with Nav2 out of the box. But it's ROS 2 only (painful on macOS), the Pi 4 is slow, and the Create 3 base is caught up in iRobot's bankruptcy and sale, so Clearpath is selling remaining stock while planning a TurtleBot 5. Buy soon or skip.
