Which one fits
- Eilik is the cheapest and simplest gift, a small desk character that reacts to touch and plays with other Eiliks. It does not talk on its own, and AI chat needs the $99 AI Station.
- LOOI gives a phone a body, with ChatGPT and Gemini chat and expressive eyes for $239. It only works with a recent iPhone or a fast Android phone, and the phone has to stay docked.
- Vector 2.0 is the most capable small robot here, driving around a desk, recognizing faces and taking itself to its charger. Its voice features need a $99.99-a-year subscription after the trial, and its maker has a history of late orders.
- EMO has the most character of the desk robots, walking, dancing and answering questions with no subscription. It ships in about 2 weeks, and the version with a self-charging dock costs $369.
- Ropet KAMOMO is a warm plush pet that recognizes faces and develops a personality, and it works offline. It stays in one place, its Gemini chat only unlocks after about three weeks of care, and it is newer and less proven than the others.
- Moflin is designed to be a pet to hold, with no screen, camera or speech, and no subscription. Its comfort comes from soft fur, small movements and sounds that change with its mood.
- Loona is the only one that roams the floor, with ChatGPT-4o chat, games and a self-charging dock. At $499 it is the most expensive, and play time is short before it docks.
