Possibly ≤ 1 weekShipping: undefined. The original L40 Ultra is sold out at Dreame US. New units turn up only from third-party sellers (unconfirmed), and Amazon search mostly returns the Gen 2. Amazon ↗
Remote control: After rooting with Valetudo the robot serves a local web UI, REST API and MQTT, so any computer on the network can control it. Unrooted, it is app only apart from the community Home Assistant integration.
Overview
The L40 Ultra is a cheaper sibling of the X40 Ultra with the same extending side brush and swing-out mops, and it is on the Valetudo list, so it can be rooted to run without the Dreame cloud. The catch is naming. Valetudo warns that only units sold as exactly "L40 Ultra" are supported, while the L40s, L40 Ultra AE and the current L40 Ultra Gen 2 are different hardware, and some markets sell rebadged L10s Pro Gen 3 units as "L40". Dreame US lists the original as sold out, so it is mostly found as leftover or used stock. The Gen 2 that replaced it (25,000 Pa, no camera) is the one sold new today.
