Overview

The second generation of Mindstorms, which replaced the RCX with a 32-bit ARM brick, digital sensor ports and motors with built-in encoders. It became the standard FIRST LEGO League kit of its era and gathered a huge range of third-party languages and sensors. NXT 2.0 added a color sensor in 2009. It was replaced by the Linux-based EV3 in 2013, and EV3 kept compatibility with most NXT sensors.
