Overview
The Roomba 205 DustCompactor takes a different route to hands-free cleaning by compressing dirt inside the robot instead of using a bulky self-emptying base, so iRobot claims up to 60 days between bin empties. The LiDAR sensor sits inside the body rather than on a turret, which keeps the height near 101 mm for low furniture. Reviews found the compactor novel but the cleaning itself average, and there is no camera obstacle avoidance. It sits above the Roomba 105 in the 2025 lineup. After a deep $180 clearance sale in July 2026 the iRobot US store lists it as out of stock, and no direct successor has been announced (unconfirmed).
