Kinova is a professional robotics company founded in 2006 in Boisbriand, Quebec, Canada, with roots in assistive robotics. Founder and CEO Charles Deguire, who assisted uncles living with muscular dystrophy, was inspired by a makeshift arm one of them invented, and co-founded the company with Louis-Joseph L'Écuyer.
