Overview

Founded in 2013 by Jake Loosararian and Troy Demmer after a fatal manual boiler inspection, Gecko builds wall-climbing TOKA robots that map wall thickness and corrosion on power-plant boilers, tanks, pipelines and Navy ships. It joined Y Combinator in 2016 and reached a $1.25 billion valuation in June 2025. The robots are used only through Gecko's own service and software business.
