Overview

A sealed, pendulum-driven sphere that rolls through sand, snow and mud and swims across water, carrying cameras in two clear end domes. It is marketed for border and perimeter surveillance, and more recently for agriculture and inspection. Company president Peter Muhlrad has said the idea began around 2009 as a concept for a Mars mission. It resembles the Swedish Rotundus GroundBot, but GuardBot holds its own US patents on its amphibious drive and stabilization system. Few independent specs have been published.
