Overview
Spun out of Carnegie Mellon's modular snake robot, HEBI turns each joint into a smart, force-controlled module so researchers can bolt together arms, mobile manipulators and legged robots quickly. Each actuator integrates motor, gearbox, spring, encoders and control electronics. Pricier than hobby servos but far more capable.
