Overview

The Kobold VR7 is Vorwerk's premium vacuum-only robot, sold in Europe through Vorwerk's shop and advisors and not in the US. Its D-shaped body, wide brush and laser navigation get it deep into corners, and Stiftung Warentest rated it 2.1 (good), but it has no mop, recognizes only cables and textiles, and costs far more than lidar robots with similar features. After Vorwerk shut down the cloud of its Neato subsidiary on 2025-10-06, three years earlier than promised, it offered European Neato owners who bought since May 2023 a free VR7 in exchange. The VR7 runs on Vorwerk's own MyKobold cloud rather than the Neato cloud (unconfirmed), and a community Home Assistant integration works through that cloud.
