The team has shifted to a closed-source version and the open design has had no substantive updates since late 2025.
LeLamp is a 3D-printed desk lamp robot with five Feetech STS3215 servo joints, an LED matrix head, a camera, microphone and speaker, inspired by Apple's ELEGNT research on expressive lamp motion. A Raspberry Pi runs its runtime, which records and replays movements and connects it to voice AI.

Builder notes
Practical points from the project's issue tracker, forum and docs, each linked to its source.
- The README states that the makers are working on a closed-source version, and the open repo has seen only README edits since November 2025. source ↗
- Cost figures disagree across the docs, about $260 in the README versus $310.64 on the parts list page, and the parts list total includes $30 of printing. source ↗
- A builder asked why the parts list links a 7.4V STS3215 while the servo driver board is rated for 9-12.6V, and the question has no maintainer answer. source ↗
- Builders found the ReSpeaker HAT to Raspberry Pi wiring unclear and asked for photos. The docs folder also carries a Pi Zero 2W drawing while the parts list lists a Pi 4. source ↗
- Printable parts are shipped as 3MF files rather than STL, with the Onshape document as the editable source. source ↗
