Aldebaran is a robotics company in Paris, created in 2005, that designs, develops and industrializes robots and is the creator of the humanoid robots NAO and Pepper. Its robots are designed to perceive their environment and interact naturally with people, with uses in sectors such as healthcare, education, retail and hospitality. SoftBank made its first equity investment in Aldebaran in 2012, making it a SoftBank Group company, and Aldebaran Robotics was later renamed SoftBank Robotics Europe. Its website now carries the Maxtronics name, which continues the safety commitment begun by Aldebaran and lists NAO products.
