Overview

Germany's long-running stick-insect walker, refined over five generations since 1994 for inspection, search-and-rescue and planetary exploration work. LAURON V added a fourth joint per leg so it can orient its feet and use its front legs to manipulate objects. It competed in the DLR SpaceBot Cup in 2013 as a planetary-exploration testbed.
