Overview

Beni is a backpack-sized camera robot that recognizes a person or dog, follows behind, beside or around them and films in 4K, then cuts highlight reels on the device. It reaches 28.8 km/h (17.9 mph), jumps 25 cm, rights itself after a fall and has an expressive face with color-changing eyes. The Kickstarter campaign ended on September 6, 2026 with nearly $5 million from 7,919 backers, but the hardware is still pre-production, and The Verge found the autonomous tracking unreliable in a hands-on, with the robot clipping walls. Delivery is estimated for October 2026 on Kickstarter and November 2026 on Mondo's store. It suits people who film sports, walks or pets and accept crowdfunding risk, not anyone looking for a programmable robot.
