Overview

Exia is German Bionic's current flagship, an active back-and-hip exoskeleton for warehouse, manufacturing, airport, construction and nursing work that delivers up to 38 kg of lift support per movement, more than the earlier Apogee it builds on. Its pitch is 'augmented AI', with an Adaptive Lift Engine trained on fleet motion data that times support to each wearer, a digital-twin safety companion that warns about risky lifts, over-the-air updates, and a Connect app plus the IO cloud platform for ergonomics reporting across a fleet. It is dust and water resistant (a healthcare variant adds IP54 protection, disinfectable parts and patient-support grips). Orders opened on 27 May 2025 ahead of debuts at the WSJ Future of Everything and VivaTech, and 2026 deployments include SoftBank's EBC Station Ai in Nagoya and airport ground handling. German Bionic does not publish the weight, battery runtime or price, which are quoted to companies, and leasing from about $399 per workplace per month has been reported (unconfirmed). It is a workplace tool sold to businesses, not to individuals.
