Overview

An older Lynxmotion kit with four 3-DOF legs spread symmetrically around a small Lexan body, so it walks in any direction without a front or back. It dates from Lynxmotion's first Servo Erector Set line, when the company was based in Pekin, Illinois, before Quebec retailer RobotShop bought it in 2012. The US design date is likely but unconfirmed. Lynxmotion pitches it at college labs and hobbyists writing their own quadruped code. Walking runs on a PC or an Arduino board, while the SSC-32U servo controller times the 12 hobby servos. Lynxmotion's newer mechDOG replaces the hobby servos with smart servos that report their position.
