Overview

Austin-based Apptronik, a spin-out of UT Austin's Human Centered Robotics Lab that also worked on NASA Valkyrie, unveiled Apollo in August 2023 (5 ft 8 in, 160 lb, lifts 55 lb). It has run pilots with Mercedes-Benz and GXO; Jabil is a manufacturing partner and Google DeepMind supplies Gemini Robotics models. After raising more than $935 million in Series A funding, Apptronik unveiled Apollo 2 in bipedal and wheeled configurations in June 2026, with fleets collecting training data at its Robot Park sites. Not yet sold commercially.
