Overview

A lifelike android receptionist designed by roboticist Hiroshi Ishiguro, whose company AVITA builds it and whose earlier work includes the Geminoid androids. Its silicone skin, real-looking hair and small air-powered actuators give it soft facial expressions and gestures, while cameras in its eyes let it look at the people it talks to. KDDI supplies the network and cloud AI, and since July 2026 it converses through Google Gemini in Japanese, English and Chinese. It debuted at MWC26 Barcelona in March 2026 and then worked as a uniformed 'humanoid station attendant' at Osaka Metro's Umeda and Tanimachi 9-chome stations from August 31 to September 15, 2026. It is a trial service robot rather than a product, with au shops named only as a possible future location.
