Overview

A build-it-yourself quadruped from Mirror Me, the Shanghai startup out of Zhejiang University whose Black Panther 2.0 ran 100 m in under 10 seconds in January 2025. The X trades that record speed for a 4 m/s, 8 kg-payload kit that snaps together like building blocks, climbs 18 cm stairs and 30° slopes and can land a 720° flip. Its Kickstarter, run from Hong Kong, raised about $323,000 from 226 backers between March 10 and April 9, 2026. Rewards were due in July 2026, the assembly stage was reached in late June and the maker's last update on July 8, 2026 promised deliveries from late July, with no public confirmation of arrivals since. There is no retail channel yet, so it is a backers-only platform for people who want an open, fast dog to tinker with rather than a pet.
