Overview

EksoNR is the clinic gait trainer from Ekso Bionics, launched in August 2019 as the successor to the Ekso GT (2013) and sold only to certified inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation centres, never to individuals. It is FDA cleared for stroke and spinal cord injury (as Ekso GT, April 2016), acquired brain injury (June 2020) and multiple sclerosis (2022, (unconfirmed) since sources give 2021 or 2022), which Ekso says makes it the only exoskeleton cleared for ABI and MS, and it carries a CE mark. Patients from 152 to 193 cm and under 100 kg use it under a trained physical therapist, with crutches or a walker for balance, and Ekso cites more than 200 publications and 185 clinical trials behind it. The 25 kg device is self-supporting and moves between patients on a cart. On 2026-10-01 Wandercraft bought Ekso Bionics, so EksoNR now shares an owner with the self-balancing Atalante X, and the two are in use at more than 700 rehab centres combined. The personal-use sibling is the Ekso Indego Personal.
