Overview
Faraday Future's entry-level robot dog, launched in June 2026 at $1,990 for families and classrooms. Instead of an onboard AI computer, a smartphone slots into the head module and provides the compute, camera and microphone. The body has a woven fabric wrap and 12 joint motors. Faraday Future has released a 3D model of the head so owners can print their own and swap skins. Development tools, from Brain Blocks to a full SDK/API, cost $399 extra, and a STEM curriculum is $499 a year.
At about 8 kg it is roughly half the weight of FX Aegis and Unitree Go2. Its quoted 2 m/s top speed trails the Aegis at 3.7 m/s and the Go2 Air at 2.5 m/s. The $1,600 Go2 Air costs less and carries its own lidar and camera, while the Navi offers phone-based AI and a curriculum aimed at children. Faraday Future says some of its robots are built on partner hardware platforms. Its filings also note a reliance on a single OEM for most of its robots, and FCC records suggest the Navi is rebadged Weilan hardware (see below). It suits schools and families who want a guided coding robot more than a fast or rugged dog.
The phone is only needed for the AI features. Faraday Future's online manual says the included one-hand "fingertip" remote pairs over Bluetooth and controls its movements directly. Its range is up to 5 m (10 m in open areas), and nearby moving people or metal objects can break the connection. The FX Navi app can also act as a remote. No phone comes in the box. The manual rates the robot for ages 14 and up.
Faraday Future advertises jumps of up to 34 cm (13.4 in) forward. Its sales team said in October 2026 that the app and remote can't trigger jumps or flips. The developer SDK has preset actions for both. Its 12 N·m joints have roughly a quarter of the torque of the Go2's largest joints, so a backflip is probably out of reach (unconfirmed). The SDK on Faraday Future's developer site (September 2026) has no joint-level control, so custom gaits and trained policies can't run through it. Its sales team first described a separate 200 Hz C/C++ low-level SDK with a reinforcement-learning example. In late October 2026 it said that package has not been released and has no download yet. FCC records list the Navi under FF AI-Robotics, a Faraday Future company, as a July 7, 2026 change-in-ID of Weilan's December 2024 grant for the BabyAlpha Dev-Q. That points to BabyAlpha hardware, and the remote's model number (WL4BACTRLCN/G2) matches Weilan's BabyAlpha remote filing (WL4BACTRL). No hands-on reviews or owner reports had appeared by October 2026.
Faraday Future's June 2026 after-sales policy gives the Navi a 12-month limited warranty from delivery. Verified defects are repaired or replaced free only in the first six months, and later repairs may carry fees for service, parts or shipping. Falls, accidents, stairs, uneven or wet ground and unapproved outdoor use are excluded. So is damage from user code that directly controls the motors beyond the approved SDK, though using the SDK as documented doesn't void the warranty by itself. Owners generally prepay shipping to the service center, even for warranty repairs. The battery isn't user-replaceable and is serviced by Faraday Future. Its sales team said paid events are allowed when the owner operates the robot.
