Overview
RT Corporation, a Tokyo robotics company, announced Mujina in November 2025 and first showed it at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 at Tokyo Big Sight (December 3–6). It is a research and development model for light-duty patrol, inspection and surveying work. RT calls it a technology test unit, not a durable production model. It is the first step in a project to build Japanese quadrupeds for power plants, telecom sites, large factories and construction surveying, so that inspection data stays in Japan. RT plans large, medium and small industrial models after it, with no dates given. RT is also developing Japan-made high-torque motors for the series, with test use expected in one to two years. RT's December 2024 plan was to productize MEVIUS, a quadruped from Kento Kawaharazuka's lab at the University of Tokyo. RT has not said whether Mujina is based on it (unconfirmed). RT has not published weight, speed or other specs.
