Overview
Neo1 is a 4 m, roughly 1.2 t humanoid from NeodraDynamics, a Beijing startup founded in 2024 whose co-founders include digital hydraulics inventor Yang Tao. It targets dangerous, dirty, dull and difficult industrial work, such as heavy assembly, port handling, nuclear maintenance, subsea repair and disaster clearance. It first appeared at the World Robot Conference in 2026, then at the China International Industry Fair in Shanghai in October 2026 with JD Industrial. The two companies plan pilot projects with JD Industrial customers.
The robot combines digital hydraulics, where a digitally controlled valve and cylinder set position directly, with electric servos. NeodraDynamics says 39 of its 41 active joints use its own ~1 kg hydraulic linear actuators. Its listed micro cylinder weighs 1.1 kg and gives 10 kN of thrust and 1 µm repeatability. Each 7-DoF arm lifts 300 kg, and the product page lists 600 kg with both arms while both press releases say 500 kg. Other maker claims include ±0.05 mm arm repeatability, operation from −50 to 300 °C and a 12,000 m depth rating, with no test data published. Official photos show it only standing at its booth. How it moves, senses and is controlled has not been shown, so it remains a prototype for industrial partners with no price.
