Overview

The X1 is a folding hip exoskeleton from Shenzhen start-up Dnsys, sold for hiking, walking and running and now the cheapest of the mainstream hip units at $689 for the Lite. It funded on Kickstarter in April and May 2024 and reached retail later that year, with three trims that share the 900 W motors and differ in frame material and battery count. At 1.6 kg it is lighter than the 2.5 kg Hypershell X Series S, and the resistance modes double it as a training device. It is IP54 rated, fits waists from 70 to 125 cm across three sizes, and requires the wearer to walk and balance unaided, so it is not a medical device. The knee-only Dnsys Z1 clips on to the same belt for a hip-plus-knee bundle. Catches are the single 15 km battery on the Lite and Carbon and a less proven track record than Hypershell. All three trims are in stock on the official store and deliver in 3 to 7 business days.
