Overview

A 15 kg industrial-grade quadruped from Genisom AI, the Beijing company called 智身科技 (Zhishen Technology) in Chinese. The company also uses the name ZSIBOT, on its logo and GitHub account, and zsibot.com redirects to genisomai.com. Launched in July 2025 as the 钢镚 ("steel coin") ZSL-1, it is sold as the Genisom L1. It runs at 3.7 m/s, climbs 16 cm stairs and 40° slopes, carries about 8 kg and is sealed to IP54. Gaits come from reinforcement learning, and it can backflip. The wheel-legged L1-W adds hub-motor wheels, 22 kg of weight, a 5.5 m/s sprint and 9 km of range. EDU versions add a Jetson Orin NX, 3D lidar, depth camera, GNSS and 5G. The maker says it had built over 15,000 robots of all models by mid-2026, and a University of Manchester team won the IROS 2025 Legged Robot Challenge on an L1.

The L1's size, speed and 1–2 hour runtime closely match the Unitree Go2 EDU, and the L1-W lines up with the Unitree Go2-W. US prices run higher, at $18,999 for the L1 EDU against $11,190–15,600 for a Go2 EDU. The draw is an unusually open software stack, with an SDK, URDF models, a MuJoCo-based simulator and a ROS 2 navigation stack all on GitHub. The Foxtech Steel Grit SG1 appears to be the same robot sold under another name for $5,672, since its photos and spec sheet match Genisom's own. The L1 suits labs that want a Go2-class research dog from a second supplier. The cheaper DEEP Robotics Lite3 is the other obvious alternative.

Prices are from Maverick Drone and AIFITLAB (October 2026), since Genisom AI publishes none. Specs come from the maker's L1 and L1-W spec tables. EDU hardware comes from the maker's pages, and the lidar and depth camera models from AIFITLAB. The maker says the SDK is open on every L1, while Maverick lists SDK access as an EDU feature, so the difference between tiers is unconfirmed. Price and shipping

The maker publishes no price. Its successor, the L2, launched in China at ~$5,600 (¥39,999), which suggests Chinese pricing well below US resale (unconfirmed).

Shipping: In stock (US). Maverick Drone, a US drone and robot dealer, shows the L1 as in stock and ready to ship (October 2026). AIFITLAB sells the L1 and L1 EDU with Add to cart and no backorder notice, shipping from China. Genisom AI sells direct by inquiry. Maverick Drone ↗
