Overview

Trexo Theo is the FDA-cleared successor to the Trexo Home and Trexo Plus, pediatric exoskeletons that bolt powered hip and knee legs onto a walker so a child can take real over-ground steps at home or in a clinic. The 510(k) clearance (K254198) covers patients aged 12 and up with cerebral palsy, used under the supervision of a trained companion or a certified therapist, and it is a prescription device. Four sizes are fitted to hip-to-knee and knee-to-floor measurements and grow with the child, up to 150 lb (68 kg), and a tablet sets gait pattern, cadence, weight bearing and support level while recording every session. Trexo says children have taken more than 174 million steps in its devices, and an observational cohort of 171 children used them at home for six months. US deliveries begin in 2027 in reservation order with a refundable deposit and a 14-day home trial, so Theo is listed as announced, while earlier Trexo Home units were sold or leased to families in Canada and the US. It is the smaller, walker-based counterpart to the frame-mounted ATLAS 2030.
