Overview

The Vastnaut One is a full-leg hiking exoskeleton with powered hips and knees in an 86% carbon-fibre frame, sold by a company that lists a Los Angeles base while its Kickstarter is registered in Hong Kong, so the manufacturing origin is (unconfirmed). Its selling point against hip-only units like the VIGX π is downhill knee support, and against the Hypershell Halo it undercuts on price while offering a quick switch to hip-only mode when the knee units are not wanted. The site claims TÜV Rheinland certification, IP54 sealing and compatibility with 35 L+ backpacks, but publishes no weight or torque figures. The Kickstarter ran from 28 April to 12 June 2026 and closed near HK$10M from several hundred backers (estimate) with first shipments promised for July 2026; no delivery confirmation or retail store had appeared by October 2026, so shipping status is (unconfirmed).
