Remote control: The arm plugs into a Linux laptop over USB, and the Interbotix Python API (on top of ROS 2) commands joints or end-effector poses.

Overview

The research lab's default low-cost arm for several years, used as the leader arm in ALOHA and as the robot for the BridgeData robot-learning datasets, which were all collected on a WidowX 250 6DOF. It sits between the tiny 4-DOF PincherX 100 (50 g payload) and the larger ViperX 300 S (750 g). Trossen now marks the 250 S as discontinued in favor of its WidowX AI line, but used units and spare Dynamixels are easy to find.
