Overview

X-ble MEX is Hyundai Motor Group's medical exoskeleton for people with paraplegia or stroke-related walking impairment, the production version of the H-MEX prototype shown in 2017. It wraps the legs and pelvis in a slim 6061 aluminium frame that can be put on from a wheelchair, and four motors (down from eight in early prototypes) drive the hips and knees at up to 1.2 km/h, with stairs, turning, sitting and standing among its seven modes. The wearer balances on crutches, which carry the step buttons, while a therapist app adjusts stride and timing. It received Korean MFDS Class III medical device approval in November 2025 (an earlier Class 2 certification preceded it), and an FDA submission is pending (unconfirmed). Users must be 160–190 cm tall and under 100 kg, and the 3,900 mAh battery gives about 90 minutes of walking. As of October 2026 no price or sales channel has been published, and the only units found are the six donated to Korean hospitals, so it is listed as announced rather than for sale. It is heavier than the ABLE Exoskeleton and the ReWalk 7 but comparable to the EksoNR.
