Clearpath Robotics was started in a basement by four university friends who wanted to make robotics research easier, and the company grew out of their first unmanned vehicle. It builds robots for research and industry and is based in Kitchener, Ontario. In October 2023 Rockwell Automation completed its acquisition of Clearpath Robotics, including its research division and its industrial division OTTO Motors.
